Okay, I know some people say that Savannah, Ga is the most Courteous city in the South, but I have to disagree, STRONGLY. I have never been to a city where it is common for you to have to wait to pay your gas station clerk while she finishes her cell phone conversation. Really she will look at you, stick her pointer finger in the air (you know the universal simple for one minute), tell the person on the phone to "hold on" and then the "How can I help you, Baby?". It seems like the "Baby" automatically takes away our frustration. The one time she doesn't say "Baby" you are mad and you ask to speak to the manager. Only to find out she is the manager. Only in Savannah! Seriously that doesn't happen in Tennessee. I have worked and trained people my entire working life (12 years) on being hospitable and courteous. I might not be an expert but know what it takes.
However, every once in awhile someone, someplace, or something Wonderful, in Savannah, sparkles with True Southern Hospitality!
There has only been one company in Savannah, Ga that no matter what location or time of day I visit has EXCEPTIONAL Customer Service...Starbucks. A non-fat venti iced latte really is the highlight of my days, so even if the Customer Service was bad I would still go to the drive-thru on Victory Dr. (i'm not gonna lie). In an average month I visit a Starbucks at least 45 times and have always had fast service, inviting smiles and a simple "Thank you". So Thank You Starbucks locations in Savannah you all hold the number one spot for Best Overall Consistent Customer Service (every location). Maybe it is all the caffeine but at least ya'll are True Southern Hospitality!
